The CCBA AMS search team has been meeting, fasting and praying, and exchanging follow-up emails with candidates as we seek the Lord’s man for the position. We are scheduling follow-up interviews and would greatly appreciate your continued prayers.
The Search Team met this morning to begin reviewing the resumes that we have received. We will spend this week in prayer and fasting, and plan to meet again on Friday (10/22/2021) to discuss next steps. Please join us in seeking the Lord this week!

JOB POSTING: Christian County Baptist Association is seeking The Christian County Baptist Association (CCBA) of Southern Baptist churches in Christian County, KY is seeking God’s man to serve as our full-time Associational Mission Strategist (AMS). The AMS serves to promote and resource cooperative Kingdom work among CCBA churches. 

Our next AMS will:

Be spiritually mature and growing in Christ

Have a deep and demonstrable love for people

Be a lifelong learner committed to ongoing education. (M.Div. preferred, but not required)

Have significant pastoral/ministerial experience

Demonstrate a strong commitment to associational missions and work

Have a proven track record of implementing and following through on Biblical vision 

Have the ability to network effectively

Be able to connect with a broad spectrum of churches: rural/city, traditional/contemporary, large/small, etc. 

Be emotionally intelligent, authentic, and open

Be a vocal encourager of both individuals and churches

Be willing to learn and appreciate the Western KY cultural context

Have a history of being a strong supporter of and participant in associational missions

Have the full support of his family for the work and the location

Be a resident of Christian County or willing to relocate within a reasonable amount of time after assuming the role of AMS 

Become a member of a CCBA church within a reasonable amount of time after assuming the role of AMS

Be proficient in the following areas:

We are grateful for every prayer and all of the support we have received. We are especially grateful to everyone who responded to the survey and attended the Town Hall Meeting. The input of the associated churches has been vital throughout this process! We are looking forward to sharing a more detailed report at the 98th Annual Meeting on Monday, September 27th at Kelly Baptist Church, Hopkinsville. We are ready to begin receiving resumes after that, with the deadline for submission set for October 15th. Once submissions are closed, we will fast and pray as we work through resumes and begin the interview process. We ask you to continue praying alongside us.

Join your AMS Search Team in daily prayer at 9:05, AM or PM  – 905 is the address of the CCBA building and most everyone is awake at one or both of those times of the day. Please set a reminder to pray for the CCBA, search team, and future leadership of the association. 


Finally, make plans to join us for a town hall meeting on July 13th at 5:30 as we discuss the next steps for the association and the search team. 


The Search Team has scheduled a town hall-style meeting for July 13th, from 5:30-7:00 at the CCBA building. The purpose of the meeting will be to gather input for the search process and pray together for the future of the association. We would love for as many CCBA pastors and elected board members as possible to attend and share with us. Light refreshments will be served.
In addition to the town hall meeting, there will also be an email survey sent out early July to pastors, elected Executive Board members, ministry and team leaders. The search team would be grateful for each response as we believe feedback from the churches will be essential to a successful search process.

The Search Committee met on June 7th to organize and discuss its next steps. Jesse Brown was selected as Chairman.
An association-wide survey and a town hall meeting are being planned with the goal of engaging as many CCBA members as possible. The Committee will meet again next week for a training session with Eric Allen. The Search Committee asks for the member churches to join in regular and fervent prayer for the Lord’s will to be made clear throughout this process.
Administrative Team Recommendation 


The Administrative team has met over the past few weeks concerning the task of forming a search committee for the purpose of hiring a new Association Missions Strategist (AMS). Bro. Jody Kilburn informed those present at the May 3rd Executive Board meeting of his resignation effective May 31, 2021.


The following individuals have agreed to serve on the AMS Search committee:
